I’m Captain Randy Cribbs, a Chassahowitzka fishing guide.

The Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge is a paradise for nature and wildlife adventures on Florida’s most scenic rivers. Accessible only by flats boat or canoe, the refuge is one of Florida’s most pristine waters and known as the “Breeding Grounds of the Gulf”. The Chassahowitzka river is spring fed and bordered by the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife refuge which was established in 1943 as a winter preserve for migratory water birds. The many Chassahowitzka estuaries, islands, salt marshes and coastal swamps are protected and managed by several agencies for the protection of preserving Old Florida atmosphere. I grew up here, living on the river in a houseboat with my folks and have been a fishing guide on the Chassahowitzka waters for over 25 years.

I now live on John’s Island at the mouth of the Chassahowitzka River in Citrus County, in the city of Homosassa with many native plants and animals that can be spotted from the island. A variety of wildlife may be seen in the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife refuge. Catch the morning bite of world class Redfish, Trout and many more other species and then run out to the scallop grounds (when in season) for low tide and fill your bucket full.  The huge fish that run in our waters are, Red fish, Trout, Snook, Flounder, Tarpon, and Cobia.

Please view our Pricing page for times, prices, and tours.

Thank you and I can’t wait to take you on the fishing trip of a lifetime.
